I like dithered images and appreciate the author's post. If you don't, but you want your webpages to load fast, look into WebP and AVIF images. Load them opportunistically using the html5 PICTURE tag - no JS required and no worry about old browsers not supporting new formats. Even plain lossless encoding of legacy formats goes a long way. After factory reset... When selecting Offline setup, it is possible to log in to the UDM. Both real world (I was trying to use steam to update things) and on the 19th when I think this glitch first started I was downloading a ubuntu image from their official download link (so I assume it should be able to stream a pretty solid bitrate. Basically steam (which should be able to cap my connection no problem), random website traffic, speedof.me and the waveform buffer bloat tests all showed me hard pegged... Source: 11 months ago
