This is driving me nuts and not sure how to deal with it. As noted using Adguard for Safari and Firefox and selected the same options/filter lists and getting different filter results. This is on the "wundermap" on wunderground.com. For example this page: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=40.731&lon=-73.987&zoom=8&radar=1&wxstn=0. Source: 8 months ago
Use wunderground.com. It's like 21% at the highest (but showing 5% in Goleta). There isn't an actual NWS forecasting out this way, so they are extrapolating. Not to mention that means 5-20% of the area will see precipitation, which could include areas in that you don't care about (eg. Up in the mountains). Source: 11 months ago
Why does the Storm Prediction Center have us in a marginal risk for tomorrow (Sat.?) The hourly forecast on weather.com and wunderground.com only show possible thunderstorms at 5 a.m. Sat. Morning but the text says "A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible" Sat. night. When is the time frame for the marginal risk the Storm Prediction Center is talking about? Trying to plan my Saturday, thanks. Source: 12 months ago
A good old fashioned barometer is your time tested best bet. When it's in the gutter, tie your mother down... Otherwise, I suggest wunderground.com. Type in your zip code, then select 10 day forecast. You can drag the slider hour by hour. And it's usually pretty darn accurate. Source: about 1 year ago
Oooh, that's a great idea to visit this March so you can get a feel for it! I also should have mentioned that wunderground.com is the only place I've found that has the historical weather data. :/. Source: about 1 year ago
Low wind is the key to my greatest paddles. I really like the Windy app. Mornings are generally more calm both for the water's surface and for fewer people up. 8am is generally my target time to be on the water. Source: 12 months ago
I recently bought Windy.app and found that my friend sailing is using Windy.com. They both seem to almost do the same thing, but I generally get a bit more sailing info from Windy.app. Not sure which are more accurate or if they do the same thing. Apparently Windy.com used to be windity or something, then windy.app came into play in 2015, then windity changed their name to windy.com in 2017 and it's confusing when... Source: about 1 year ago
Thanks! And are you referring to windy.com or windy.app? Both have apps and websites lol. Source: over 1 year ago
We mostly sail "inshore" and use windy.app (Link to avoid confusion since there are two). And navionics. Source: over 1 year ago
The Windy app (https://windy.app/) may also help you to predict where/when in Tampa Bay the storms are gonna hit - wherever the winds converge, that's where the storms develop. Source: over 1 year ago
