There are a number of free and commercial softwares developed for diagrams, flowcharts, and mind mapping with similar features. I haven't used them in a while, but in the past I've liked yEd and VUE. Both are free and support multiple platforms. Source: about 2 years ago

Visio isnt hard, but stencils are a pain in the ass. So, I suggest draw.io instead, also its free and they have both a cloud GUI tool and desktop tool on Git. I have not used visio since 2019. Source: 12 months ago
