VidCoder is recommended for people who need a reliable and efficient tool for transcoding video files, such as converting videos to different formats or ripping DVDs and Blu-rays. It's suitable for both casual users looking for simple video conversions and advanced users who want more control over encoding settings.
This software is recommended for casual users who need to make personal backups of their DVD collections. It's also suitable for those looking to digitize older DVDs that they own. However, for advanced copying and conversion features, dedicated enthusiasts may want to explore more comprehensive solutions offered within the same DVDFab ecosystem or by competitors.

VidCoder (Here) is my go to app, it uses handbreak as its encoder but has much better handling of real discs. Source: about 2 years ago
A user recently reported that VidCoder would hang in the middle of a long encode. After dusting off WinDbg and some !clrstack and !eestack I found a thread in garbage collection for FlowDocument. We use this in only one place, the log window. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago

If you need a specific size, which is why I guess one of the few reasons you’d want a constant bitrate, use vidcoder, which is just a reskinned handbrake with a target size option. For compression, I’d encode with H.265 or AV1 depending on what hardware you need it for, assuming you do need it light. I would still pass through audio, unless you’re really in a pinch.
