  Vertcoin is a Litecoin fork that follows bitcoin core development. The dev team is hardcore about ASIC resistance and they have hard forked (3 or 4 times, I think) to kick them off the network.   I also said in a comment below, I use YNAB to track my financial life. This strategy only works if you have enough confidence in your finances to know that if I gave you a card with 100k credit limit, you would never spend more on it than what you have in your bank and has been budgeted for.
