Sorry to burst your bubble but Ubuntu has automatic security updates by default since 2016. It is also very easily configurable either to disable it outright or even make all updates automatically download and/or install. This is the update settings dialog and you can confirm automatic updates on the Ubuntu page on security if you scroll down a bit. I remember being a lot of noise when this was introduced because...
