  • Everything I install and set up on a new MacBook as a web developer
If I’m recording a full screen capture for videos, I like to hide the app icons at the top of the screen. I use Vanilla for this. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • Free alternative to Bartender besides Hidden Bar on M1 MBP 14"
Vanilla. But here you are sure to find more of your liking. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Is there and app to keep Date & Time from dimming in menubar when in focus mode?
BTW, if you just want to hide menubar icons and don't use BTT, Vanilla is a pretty cool app that does this. I actually use it alongside BTT, so Vanilla hides some menubar icons permanently that I don't ever want to see and then I use BTT to only shows those that I want to see at some point. I really appreciate this! Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Third party backend comment system (not disqus or wp)

  • Any no-code / low-code product that would allow me to add comments that is not Disqus?
Commento (https://commento.io/ ) is a nice service that I've used with static site generators like Hugo -- very easy to add to a project - no real coding required to include it, and people can add comments to your blog etc... Honest straightforward pricing model for their SASS offering, and it's open source, so you can host it yourself if you have a server. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Do You Really Need a Message Queue? Handling Background Jobs with Tokio
Given that I don't want to rely on proprietary services, does anyone know of a Commento to Notado's Disqus? (i.e. Equivalent but self-hostable and open-source). Source: over 1 year ago
