That is common for large files. If you press "Try again", it usually resumes from exactly the same spot. Generally tho, I recommend using a download manager in such cases. I can recommend uGet, it's completely open source and is a frontend for wget. Source: over 1 year ago

There is an app called Youtube Vanced that gives you the benefits of premium without paying (so no ads, able to let youtube run while using other apps, able to lock the screen and have it still play) that I've been using for a year now.
