I was lucky to be part of the beta for my SaaS (https://turnshift.app) and I must say this new feature simplifies things A LOT. Especially as a EU business owner, I previously had to sync every VAT tax rate possible, use a complex workflow to know if a customer needed to pay taxes or not, link tax rates to customers, report taxes. One trick to see if a UK-based retailers might have a warehouse in the EU is to check if it is registered for VAT in an EU Member State. You can find the name of the company of the retailer on their website (this would usually be on their Terms & Conditions as it is a legal contract with customers), go to VAT-Search website and type down the name of the legal entity to search.
