Kodi + trakt.tv. And my movie collection looks better than Netflix. Also, I have more content than Netflix. Trakt helps to organize it. I used to use Kodi plugins but now it`s too much hassle. Source: 6 months ago
I spent some time working on this tool called IMDB-Trakt-Syncer which syncs user watchlist, ratings and comments for Movies, TV Shows and Episodes both ways between IMDB and Trakt. Also syncs episode ratings. You can use this script alongside PlexTraktSync and TMDB-Trakt-Syncer to get your ratings syncs across all 4 platforms! It should work on any OS. The project's Github repository and source code can be found... Source: 6 months ago
Good afternoon everyone!! I am a long time browser/reader of the all mighty reddit but this is my very first post. I very recently learned about trakt.tv and best I can tell it is great. I am in search of some information as to how to get Jellyfin Media Server to synchronize with the site. I installed the plug-in and authorized the device using the provided link but the browser never redirected. Thanks in... Source: 7 months ago
No movie site / app I am aware of gives you the opportunity to follow filmmakers. And that's a pity - both for movie lovers as myself and for filmmakers as yourself, who e.g. Want to keep track of their colleagues' work. That's why I built movienerd. And in its core it's basically that: you follow filmmakers and get a personalized feed of their past and upcoming releases. I use the database of themoviedb (as... Source: 11 months ago

Backend as a Service (BaaS) goes back to early 2010’s with companies like Parse and Firebase. These products integrated everything a backend provides to a webapp in a single, integrated package that makes it easier to get started and enables you to offload some of the devops maintenance work to someone else. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago

You can try https://parseplatform.org/, it is self-hosted if you need. And also there are a number of cloud services with compatible API, like https://www.back4app.com/ It has dart-friendly generated API client, much simpler than firebase and is built on top of postgresql and mongodb. Not to crash the party or anything. Supabase is great and all but in terms of feature completeness and getting actual products built, it doesn't come close to Parse[0]. Same with Appwrite. Both of these are very popular but they either lack essential features or have them behind a subscription wall. For example, the OSS version of Supabase (last I checked) doesn't include the edge functions which are really... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
I was regular user of Parse and after it became open-source I have built around 5-6 projects using Parse, two of them is with Flutter, but that's 1-2 years ago, and back then their Flutter SDK was a bit weak and unofficial, but currently Flutter SDK became official and I am about to start a new project, now I am considering another option AppWrite. Anyone used both and let me know how AppWrite compares to Parse?... Source: almost 2 years ago
