  • Tonal gym install
I have a Tonal machine (tonal.com), which is essentially a cable machine that hangs on the wall. Tonal install requirements are really specific and they send you all the hardware to use, which are rated for 2x4 studs that are floor to ceiling. I have 2x3 metal studs and can't use the hardware they sent, so I'm thinking about getting shorter screws and installing this on my own. It's going to be about 3/4" inches... Source: 8 months ago
  • Can I get away with a 78” install of I’m 5’10”?
When you go to tonal.com you will see a women doing a decline chest fly right below the lebron james images (strength you can feel. Results you can see). That locking position on my tonal is 79 inches. That is the position of every overhead move I've done on tonal (250 workouts). If you look really closely you can see 8 silver locking holes that go down the side of the Tonal. Those holes lock in the arm when... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: Who is hiring? (September 2021)
Tonal (https://tonal.com) | DevOps, Engineering, Managers, Marketing, Hardware, Product, Data Science... | Full time ONSITE (currently working from home, most in SF or TO, some NYC) Tonal is the smartest home gym and personal trainer, made by a diverse team of experts who applied decades of research to reinvent strength training. • A case against the MVI architecture pattern

  • What at home fitness video programs do you love?
I use FitOn. My employer provides access to it for free (Premium I think it $30/year) as part of our benefits package. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I can't help but feel embarrassed to go to the gym
Https://fitonapp.com/ is free and there's tons of good workouts for all levels. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Routine
I highly recommend fiton for beginner bodyweight/dumbbell work. https://fitonapp.com You could also subscribe to ifit, they have rower workouts (no need to have a Nordic track rower, I use the app on a tablet mounted on my Schwinn bike), but it does cost money. I use it multiple times a week for cycling and strength and love it, but grouch about the price. https://www.ifit.com It takes a loooooong time and... Source: about 1 year ago
  • hand/wrist strain
Get into an orthopedist that specializes in hands and wrists. They can offer you some PT exercises to strengthen those areas. Those helped me immensely. Someone on here also said pilates, and I agree with that, too. The FitOn app has a bunch of free workouts that I use. They're only around 20 minutes long so they're not too taxing, and you can build up strength that way. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is anyone else planning anything cute/crafty/fun to announce to their parents?
I'm trying to continue jogging as I did before, but I've also been using FitOn - they have free online workouts, including prenatal workouts :). Source: about 2 years ago
