I don't use a 'method'. I use a timer for stuff I don't want to do. I use timer-tab.com A LOT and I also have one of those visual timers. I don't use it all day, and I don't use it for everything. If I need to do something that is boring as hell, like some routine thing for my job, I just set the timer for 10 or 20 minutes. That's it. There is no point in making it complicated. You are overthinking this. Source: about 2 years ago
Timer-tab.com is also great, though you can't embed it in a PPT (at least not easily) - you can set any amount of time, the time will fit your window (great if you need to split the screen), and you can set the background and alarm sound. I had fun changing the background throughout the year for holidays, countdowns to break, test days, etc. Source: almost 3 years ago
Ikr, can't believe I have to have timer-tab.com open so I can easily set a 3 hour timer or whatever. Source: about 4 years ago
If you're still reading, then I feel OK to plug the app I made that can do all of the above. It is called the Shared Game Timer and the URL is https://sharedgametimer.com. Source: over 1 year ago
The Shared Game Timer (https://sharedgametimer.com/) has a Sandtimer mode. But it does take 3 presses to restart the timer (Stop, Reset, Start), but that is something I'd be willing to change if I knew people wanted a mode where a single press does all 3 things. Let me know if you want that feature. Source: about 2 years ago
You are welcome to try out the (free) timer I created, https://sharedgametimer.com. Source: about 2 years ago
Sounds like the Shared Game Timer. (https://sharedgametimer.com) I'm the author of that. I don't have a Web API for controlling it (yet) but I do have a Bluetooth API that allows anyone with some coding skills to hook up devices (like lights, buttons, etc) to it. Source: about 2 years ago
It's free for anyone to use, in case you want to give it a go. https://sharedgametimer.com. Source: over 2 years ago
