  • How do I read and understand the Bible
A good commentary Bible will help. They will have comments at the bottom of the pages to explain some of the more difficult passages. My two favorites are "The Life Application Bible" (Amazon) and "The John MacArthur Study Bible (gty.org). I own both and they have both helped me a lot in biblical understanding. Source: 7 months ago
  • What kind of bible should I get?
NKJV and ESV are very popular. I would suggest a commentary Bible that will have comments at the bottom of the pages to explain the more difficult passages in the Bible. There are many you can choose from but the only two I am familiar with are "The Life Application Bible" (Amazon) and "The John MacAuthur Study Bible" (gty.org). Both are available in several different translations. Source: 12 months ago
  • Need some advice
Lastly, there are a lot of good preachers that you can listen to on your mobile device or computer. Guys like Adrian Rogers (lwf.org), David Jeremiah (davidjeremiah.org), Jeff Shreve (fromhisheart.org) and John MacAuthur (gty.org). These are pastors that I have been listening to for many years so I know they teach sound biblical truth. Source: 12 months ago
  • Iam scared god has abandoned me
Third, if you are not going to church, then you need to. Sermons from a good Bible teaching preacher can really have an impact on you. I am fortunate to have a really good Bible teaching preacher at my own church but I don't stop there. I listen to other preachers on TV, on the radio, and over the internet during the week. Some of my favorites are David Jeremiah (davidjeremiah.org), Jeff Shreve... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Where do I start to move towards Christ?
As already mentioned, there are some good commentary Bibles that will have notes at the bottom of the pages that explain some of the more difficult passages. My two favorites are "The Life Application Bible" (Amazon) and "The John MacAuthur Study Bible" (gty.org). You can also log in and watch sermons on line. I do not want this to replace you going to a local church, I believe fellowship with like-minded... Source: about 1 year ago

  • Is there any place to get free bibles
I just use https://bible.com . They have all the versions and they're all within the app and a website. :). Source: 7 months ago
  • How do I deal with deep-seated anger at God connected to not understanding why He allows life in this world to be so painful?
To me it was helpful to read couple of these plans on youversion / bible.com https://www.bible.com/search/plans?query=Why%20Do%20Bad%20Things%20Happen%20To%20Good%20People. Source: 12 months ago
  • My english teacher is defending GPT zero. What do I tell him?
This is something I saw in another post but it’s still interesting: go to bible.com (or any website that hosts the Bible). Copy the Genesis, and run it through ZeroGPT. Did God use AI to write it or it was AI that wrote it? Also, since this is pre-2021 material, you might also want to try something newer like a book that’s been published about a year ago and run it through that program. This would work, at least... • “Fact: God has never made a single drop of alcohol”
The community note source is "The Bible" at bible.com I have to think it's inherently the most hilarious. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Can anyone translate this? I found it going through my late grandmother’s jewelry.
Since I don't read the original Greek, I'm working off translations. The English Standard Version that I got from bible.com used perfect, so that's what I used and what will be recognizable to most people. I have no idea what the original Greek word is and if the translation into either English or Hebrew is erroneous. Source: about 1 year ago
