Sounds like you want something like Thanos. Source: 12 months ago
Yes, but also no. The Prometheus ecosystem already has two FOSS time-series databases that are complementary to Prometheus itself. Thanos and Mimir. Not to mention M3db, developed at Uber, and Cortex, then ancestor of Mimir. There's a bunch of others I won't mention as it would take too long. Source: 12 months ago
Long term storage all depends on your needs and sophistication. I use Thanos for our system since it has an extremely flexible scaling system. But there is also Grafana Mimir. They're both similar in that they use Prometheus TSDB format as part of the underlying storage. One nice Thanos advantage is that it does do downsampling in addition to being able to store raw metric data for a long time. It will auto-select... Source: about 1 year ago
You can aggregate all your clusters Prometheus metrics together with a wonderful tool called Thanos. This will allow you to use just a single Grafana instance against Thanos and using a label select which cluster you wish to see metrics from. The downside of this, is that none of the Grafana dashboards from the internet will work as-is. You'll need to customize all of them for Thanos support. The other... Source: about 1 year ago
At the time, I was starting a project in Elixir (cf Kubirds) for my startup because the feature-set of Elixir matched very well with what I wanted to do. Source: 11 months ago
Currently working on https://kubirds.com , a Cloud-Native Supervision Engine. Think alerting similar to Nagios/Icinga/Centreon but as a Kubernetes Operator which can run almost any Docker image. We are also building on top of this a trading bot with a FinTech company, and a SaaS website monitoring service for non-tech people. We are also considering building, still on top of Kubirds, a No-Code notification... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
If it's based on Kubernetes, my associate and myself are working on https://kubirds.com/ But I guess you might want to go with either Icinga or Zabbix if it's not based on Kubernetes. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Kubirds[0], a Cloud Native Supervision Engine. In the Cloud, monitoring and supervision is all about metric collection and analysis. The good old days of alerting (with tools like Nagios, Icinga, Zabbix, ...) seems to have been forgotten. IMHO, numbers (metrics) are good for machines, not humans. Alerts provide a very simple way of detecting what's wrong. This is why CI/CD tools have a "Green/Red" status for their... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
What's so wrong about sprinkling some jquery on a static website (generated with hugo or jekyll)? On https://kubirds.com I use: jQuery appear: https://plugins.jquery.com/appear/ jQuery fancybox: https://fancyapps.com/docs/ui/fancybox/ Do not put jQuery to the trash yet, it still have a long life ahead. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
