  • We No Longer Need a Big Carrier's Wireless Plan. Discount Ones Are the Way
Not OP, and they said what they use (Red Pocket) but I also pay $5/mo for service from Tello ( https://tello.com/ ). 500MB/mo, data only, calls through Google Voice via data. (100 minutes of voice $1/mo extra.) Lots of choice in building your own plan. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • T-Mobile switching users to more expensive plans unless they call to opt out
Happy with Tello: https://tello.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Can i recharge/pay again to stay with the same number?
Https://tello.com/ Unlimited on tello is 25gb of data. Source: 10 months ago
  • Best provider for 30 days
I'm on Mint and happy with it, live in Arlington VA and work in Downtown DC. As of last year you could sign up for Visible for a month and cancel. If you don't need fully unlimited data, i.e. Where you are staying will provide internet, a provider like tello.com might be good where you can customize your minutes and data (US Mobile has similar). • A country where US calling can legally be charged at $1/minute is a broken country.
For US calling, if you have a supported phone, you can also sign up for a cheap US provider like Tello and pay $8/month for unlimited US calls and texts on a secondary SIM. Turn on wi-fi calling on the US SIM and make calls using your Canadian data. When you go to the US, add a gig of data for the cost of 2 Rogers US minutes. That's one of many similar US providers discussed in depth here. Source: about 1 year ago

  • ACP questions
I don't think the $25 plan will work for ACP, because the government payment is set at $30/mo., can't be changed, and carriers can't get more ACP payment than the plan costs. But what do you mean "I think he put me on the $25/month plan"??? It's pretty easy to check what plan you have, thru the MyMetro app or logging into your account at metrobyt-mobile.com. I have ACP, and on the $30 plan, so it's free. Source: about 1 year ago
  • metrobyt-mobile uses a.i. in order processing
Every time I've submitted the order thru metrobyt-mobile.com I get the "find a store" error no matter which browser, credit card, device , clearing cookies , etc I did livechat where they created a dummy order number (since orders never succeed I never get an order number) and had me email support. Email support said I need to call so I phoned and rep said I must go in store as the phone is in stock and they... Source: about 1 year ago
  • How important is avoiding Blink/Chromium to you? And if not at all, why?
I'm asking because I've noticed a much larger number of anti-Firefox comments lately, and I would guess that it comes down to the fact that based on polls on this sub, a plurality members are Firefox users, many of whom very proudly defend Firefox tooth and nail because they don't want Google to get a monopoly and turn Chrome into the next IE 6. WebKit (Safari and Epiphany/Gnome Web) aren't a real competition due... Source: about 1 year ago
  • seems like firefox is like getting worse market share idk
Idk. I'm a Firefox user, and I like using it. But I don't use it on my iPad, there's really no reason to use anything but Safari on there. I don't use it much on my phone, Firefox for Android isn't that good, but I keep it installed. I mostly only use it on Windows and Linux. So, Idk. I'm afraid that companies will stop supporting Firefox which will lead to websites not working, I mean I've had issues with... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Metro pcs vs all other wireless carriers
Yes, there is. You can download a PDF from your account. Unfortunately, it doesn't specify your billing address but it's there. You have to access it from metrobyt-mobile.com. Under the My Account menu, choose Account history, and Statements. Source: over 1 year ago
