  • 3D combat on VTTs?
VTT with a 3D environment exists, this one is called TaleSpire. It's been implemented to good effect in several seasons of Dimension20. Source: 11 months ago
  • First time DM and I'm not sure what level to start off my players
I'm doing a DnD session on Talespire and when doddling around I was able to develope a decent sewer/port type dungeon with little traps, hazards and mobs themed to sewers. Source: 12 months ago
  • Which Virtual Tabletop would you recommend for a solo experience?
I've been eyeing TaleSpire, but I wanted to ask you fine people what you think before making the plunge. Setting aside all connectivity issues and looking purely at the tabletop experience on a single PC, which VTT do you think provides the best experience for a solo game? Source: about 1 year ago
  • Best D&D map makers for dungeons, cities and worlds
I feel that list articles don't meet the standard for a good HN submission. In the interest of discussing tabletop map tools, one that isn't mentioned which is frankly amazing is: TaleSpire[1]. The quality of their asset packs for building maps is fantastic and you can actually play with friends using it. [1] https://talespire.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • What are good alternatives to roll20?
Talespire - 3D! Cool features and heroforge support. A little bit of a learning curve to make actual maps though. Also, making a 3d map is killer for immersion, but it also kills your prep time. Definitely recommend, if you're interested in 3d and choose this one, that you learn to use the community to its fullest to help you save on prep. Source: about 1 year ago

DiceCloud mentions (12)

  • [online] [5e] [15+] [Fridays, 5 PM CEST +2] Shadows of the Abyss
We will communicate and roll the dice through Discord, but I will need you to make your character sheet on either DnD Beyond,DiceCloud v1 or DiceCloud v2, since we will use Avrae for rolls to make it easier. All players will have a private channel for notes that only they will be able to see. Source: 11 months ago
  • Do you know any website for characther sheets like dnd beyond, but it supports homebrew
We've really liked Dicecloud. https://v1.dicecloud.com/ is the link to the original which requires more set up but is more flexible. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Anyone else frustrated with the lack of quality character sheet apps?
It's got a learning curve because it's super customizable even for other non DND rpgs, but it does DND the best in my experience, but I love v1.dicecloud.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is V1 staying around?
I had a play alarmedley message me to say her character had disappeared. No worries, turns out the main site link now leads to V2, not V1, which has it's own link at https://v1.dicecloud.com/ - but it does have me worried that my party's character's are jeopardised long-term, especially as we have no desire to transfer to the new version. Source: over 1 year ago
  • DiceCloud Version 2 is out now. DiceCloud is an open source fully automated character engine with dice rolling, Discord integration, and a whole lot more.
Version 1 will stay up indefinitely at https://v1.dicecloud.com, you can find your old characters there. Source: over 1 year ago
