  DuckDuckGo & Co. - DDG, Swisscows and Ecosia all use Bing index. For people that only care about privacy, this is a non-issue. But I don't like the idea that the entirety of web currently depends on just two companies. So I personally don't use them.   I use brave, google (for technical subjects when I can't find answer with brave), and for anything that has a remote chance to be censored I use engines with their own crawlers : fireball.de, gigablast.com, yandex.com and other browsers to be sure but I don't think they have their own crawler : lycos.com, swisscows.com, mojeek.com, metager.de.   My school gives me a laptop that is very restricted, most settings cannot be changed without admin, everything is logged, cmd blocked, websites blocked, etc. My laptop with Zorin OS (linux) does not have that issue so I always keep it in my bag.
