  • Seeding to Rails from an API
I got my data from superheroapi.com. The site had far more info than what I needed, so I had to figure out how to selectively import data via code in my seeds.rb file. I began searching around and below you will find my discoveries. None of this stuff was easy, but with some crafty deductive logic it all came together into just what my project needs. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • 15 unorthodox APIs to Elevate Your Project 🔥
Get ready to fight crime (or at least pretend to) with this API. It provides information on thousands of superhero characters, including their powers, abilities, and biographies. Superhero API. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • Trying to work with SuperHero API and I keep getting this error
CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) is a security feature where the server only accepts requests coming from the same origin (e.g. https://superheroapi.com). This is implemented in the server using Access-Control-Allow-Origin headers and respected by the browser. • Chapter 02 pg 164
Uhhh so on Comic Fury (the platform that hosts our comic's main site) there's the option to include a transcript, which is intended to just be so you can make your comic's dialogue searchable, if you enable the search function on your comic's site. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Any fan-comic writers?
Heck yeah fan comic artist here! You'll find more of us on ComicFury. I wished there was more of us also on AO3, but it's formatting doesn't really make it easy lol. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there a platform for more mature webcomics than Webtoon's?
However, ComicFury is a good site for posting mature comics, I've found. There's a very extensive tagging & filtering system, so the site isn't as worried about little kids coming across mature content accidentally. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • You know of a good community of older comic creators?
I dunno if this is what you're looking for- but a couple of months ago I found this site: Comicfury to host my comics because all the big ones favor scroll and I like page format. There are teenagers there on the forums but the average age of forum participants is 20-40 (with a lot of over/under) and it has a very active forum section. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • To all writers who post fanfics on unconventional websites (sites that aren't AO3, FF.Net, or Wattpad), what's it like, why do you do it, and what site do you post your fics to?
Because my preferred way to tell stories is comics. As much as I love AO3, it's not comic-friendly. Thus my main place to read/post is Comic Fury. Source: almost 2 years ago
