I know you found what you're looking for but.. I would recommend doing a third party malware scan with someone like sucuri.net. The other - perhaps more important - reason to provide a laptop is data risk management. If the laptop is yours, you can force encryption, backups, and install endpoint security tools, which allow you to remotely wipe it if lost/stolen/fired.
