  • Find a Domain for Your Startup
Hey, thanks. It's so unusual for me to promote anything I'm forgetting the main part. I can't edit the post anymore, so I tried to post a new one...with the link. Link is https://startup-name.com ! - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
  • Find a domain fo your project
When starting a new project, I'm always looking for the same pattern for domain names. So I built a tool to ease the search because the existing tools recommendations always felt bad to me. I manually curated 100+ trending name modifiers for SAAS names and classified the TLDs and that's it ; no AI, no bullshit. • ELI5: How do internet domains work? Who are you paying?
In the future things might change, there's discussions around decentralization of trust that now has accumulated with a select few (donut domains? Verisign?) Handshake is one such protocol that allows you to have decentralized trust and hence gives you freedom to have your own TLD, porkbun will even sell you one if you'd like but it's very much experimental today.
