  • Is Bitwig Essentials enough for controlling Eurorack Modular?
Buy through splice.com its no interest or fees added and a I think about $8.99 US a month till you pay it off u get same things and updates till its paid off which takes a long time so a steal at the price you own it outright when paid off. Source: 7 months ago
  • Anyone having troubles with using Cubase 13 on Splice rent-to-own?
I upgraded Cubase to 13, which essentialy adds 6 months to your rent but now I can't use Cubase at all. It says the license expired, and when I click "renew" in the Activation Manager it just brings me to splice.com which says that my license is active... Source: 7 months ago
  • is pro worth it over artist?
Lastly, if you have exhausted your 60 day trial, and are in need of Pro, but can't spend at the moment, splice.com offers a rent-to-own plan for Cubase Pro. It is always at full price though and never goes on sale, so keep that in mind. Although, it's good to pay $17 for a couple months till the sale arrives, and then crossgrade to it. Will still be quite reasonable. Source: 12 months ago
  • Where do you get your drums?
I have no shame in saying I use splice , mainly cus of the sample clearance and convenience. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for free or cheap one shot drum and cymbal samples for metal/rock/djent
I like using Splice. They have tons of one shots and loops and it all drags-and-drops right into your DAW. You can probably get a free trial to get what you need, then cancel. Source: about 1 year ago

  • [Audio] The MQA Controversy: How an inferior format tried to take over the high-end audio market and caused major backlash
Excessive licensing costs weren’t the only concern surrounding MQA though. MQA is touted as being DRM free, with audio streams able to be stored in the very popular, open source FLAC format. Only the lower resolution 16-bit audio is truly DRM free however. MQA’s authentication watermarking must be present in the file, and properly validated at playback, otherwise MQA decoders will refuse to unfold the audio to... Source: over 1 year ago
  • What audio format do you put on your iPods?
FLAC continues to be actively maintained and updated. Which, actually thanks for asking your question because in checking sources I noticed FLAC was just updated not two weeks ago. I thik the last time I updated my encoder libraries was after MP3 lost patent protection and dropped licensing a few years ago, so this is fortuitous timing! Anyways, FLAC continues to be meaningfully updated (homepage @ xiph and the... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • ELI5: How does audio compression (mp3, etc) make sound files so much smaller?
