Since no one's mentioned it, I wanted to mention Hype Machine, a music blog aggregator. It indexes hundreds of music sites and makes it easy to listen to their latest posts. Its basic mission is to help find the best new music first. Tracks favourited the most by users show up on the Popular page. I suppose there are a few sites that hang onto the Web 2.0 spirit. The Hype Machine is a good example, despite no longer having the content it used to...and it's no longer a relevant force in music anymore. Then as my iTunes library grew in the late 2000s early 2010s, I became obsessed with building playlists. This coincided with finding The Hype Machine https://hypem.com , where I could find new music though oftentimes these were remixes, unless I specifically searched new genres.
