SpeedOf.Me VS Speed Test by Cloudflare

This is a really good idea. For years I've wanted to know: - Which AirBNB hosts actually have a good "dedicated workspace". Criteria: at least a 30" deep desk, and a comfortable adjustable height office chair. - Which AirBNB rental units actually have fast internet. After factory reset... When selecting Offline setup, it is possible to log in to the UDM. From there, when setting up the internet connection, filling up the PPPoE data, device manages to get IP and connects to the internet but: - UDM-SE -> network -> dashboard -> speed test fails - https://speedof.me/ - won't load - https://account.ui.com/ - won't load - https://www.youtube.com/ - works - google... Both real world (I was trying to use steam to update things) and on the 19th when I think this glitch first started I was downloading a ubuntu image from their official download link (so I assume it should be able to stream a pretty solid bitrate. Basically steam (which should be able to cap my connection no problem), random website traffic, speedof.me and the waveform buffer bloat tests all showed me hard pegged... Source: 10 months ago

Second, speedof.me is not a recommended site to test your subscribed speed. Better use speedtest dot net or fast dot com. And make sure to select nearest PLDT or SMART is selected pag sa speedtest. Source: 11 months ago

It is not in the same league as Flent, but I really like https://speed.cloudflare.com as an in-browser internet speed test. It's backed by a very densely deployed CDN, it tests both loaded and unloaded latency, and it reports jitter and draws candlestick plots. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

Followup: I just tested OpenWrt 23.05.2 + luci-app-sqm + cake with https://speed.cloudflare.com/ With the limit set to 1 Mbps (1000/1000), my upload latency dropped from 80ms to 25ms, but speed was hard-limited to 1000/1000. With the limit rasied to 1G/1G, cake stopped working and my upload latency returned to 80ms. So I stand by my original comment. This is helpful, thank you. We weren't expecting anything being routed through a wall, just a longer cable. Speeds right next to the router on my phone were still like 20Mbps. I will try creating the two networks and seeing if that helps, though I still think there is something wrong with how it was set up. I've been using cloudflare (https://speed.cloudflare.com) for the tests which is in Mbps. Source: 5 months ago
