  • Ask HN: Can a website kill my internet connection? (WebRTC)
Https://speed.cloudflare.com/ produces more details than many other speedtest sites. Interpreting them correctly is of course another question. - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
  • Flent: The FLExible Network Tester
    > https://speed.cloudflare.com Love this. I'm used to use speedtest.net back in the day, but this is so much better in so many ways and provides so much more data. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Flent: The FLExible Network Tester
It is not in the same league as Flent, but I really like https://speed.cloudflare.com as an in-browser internet speed test. It's backed by a very densely deployed CDN, it tests both loaded and unloaded latency, and it reports jitter and draws candlestick plots. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Unbloating the Buffers
Followup: I just tested OpenWrt 23.05.2 + luci-app-sqm + cake with https://speed.cloudflare.com/ With the limit set to 1 Mbps (1000/1000), my upload latency dropped from 80ms to 25ms, but speed was hard-limited to 1000/1000. With the limit rasied to 1G/1G, cake stopped working and my upload latency returned to 80ms. So I stand by my original comment. You still have to configure the speed limits manually. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Issues with Fibre internet immediately after starting service
This is helpful, thank you. We weren't expecting anything being routed through a wall, just a longer cable. Speeds right next to the router on my phone were still like 20Mbps. I will try creating the two networks and seeing if that helps, though I still think there is something wrong with how it was set up. I've been using cloudflare (https://speed.cloudflare.com) for the tests which is in Mbps. Source: 6 months ago

  • Help with crashing lives! Please 😞
I prefer https://speakeasy.net/speedtest but many prefer Ookola. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Goodbye my Sprint
It's been awful. Calls get dropped. Only about 1-6 calls are clear and then the connection is flaky and dies a lot. I have 2 iPhone 8 Plus 256GB both verizon models that allow all carriers. The data speed is about 12M compared to sprint that was 80-100M, when tested on speakeasy.net/speedtest. I've tried have the cellular settings be manual and me selecting the local cellphone provider and also auto selecting.... Source: about 3 years ago
