CalyxOS does not have this problem with Pixel 3a / 3a XL phones as it doesn't have this extra sandboxing. I find the app cold start times not so much of an issue on Pixel phones with UFS 2.1 storage. According to gsmarena.com below links the OP9 Pro and the 8 are both CDMA compatible but from what I read I suspect only the US variants with single sim are CDMA compatible the dual sim international variants are strictly GSM with no CDMA maybe that's why some people are having issues on Verizon and some aren't ? - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
