Social Fixer, I have used it for years. Until I started using the FB mobile app I didn't know what it was like to see a feed full of ads. I saw a few but they were rare. Generally more modern than IRC, these platforms are primarily developed as FOSS software. This makes it less likely for developers to impact their users negatively.
