I think there might be more to this story. This app is what people generally use to sideload apps on a locked Google TV device such as the Google Chromecast. If you use YouTube for this kind of playback I recommend you trying out SongTube instead, its also open source, has better support for audio, and its UI is also really slick, but it can't import subscriptions just yet, so you'll have to do that manually. Source: about 2 years ago
