I started conversing with the author of SIV on the Corsair forum many years ago. We still chat on occasion, usually when he adds a new feature he wants to test on various systems. When I got into Aquacomputer devices, I helped him add support for them. The code is way over my head but I can try the beta versions and report what works and what doesn't until he nails it. If you are interested, you can find SIV at... Source: 11 months ago

I got fed up with Corsair back in the Link days and have been using a program called SIV to control my Corsair PWM and RGB controllers for years. SIV (not Gigabyte's SIV) is a system monitoring program similar to HWINFO but more expansive. The author of SIV got fed up with Corsair's buggy software so he reverse-engineered their protocols and added support for many Corsair products to SIV. SIV is extremely... Source: 12 months ago
Icue doesn't "block" other applications. It just shoots out polling requests like a drunk soldier with a machine gun, with no regard for other polling requests. The annoying part of this is that the author of SIV was helping Corsair improve their code and showed them how to properly implement the polling mutex, which they did in the later versions of Corsair Link. When they rolled out Icue, they decided that the... Source: about 1 year ago
I am not sure why it says `0x0000`, which implies that the ROM is not being read at all. This is the case regardless whether I pass in a ROM file or not. It might be worth noting that I had a lot of trouble extracting the ROM and managed to do this on a native Windows 11 install using System Information Viewer. Source: about 1 year ago
Where can I download latest madvr installer? madvr.com is inaccessible and only redirects to madvrenvy.com but installer is nowhere there. Any help? Source: 5 months ago
I have always just loaded my 4k HDR content onto an external hard drive and played directly off that. If you're using an HDMI and have the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color setting on, give PotPlayer with the madVR plug-in a try. Source: 11 months ago
Most hardcore anime fans that I know usually use MadVR. Will need to check and see if RTX VSR does a good job when it comes to anime content. Source: about 1 year ago
I use K-Lite Codec Pack (https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm). It includes Media Player Classic Home Cinema (https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc) and that's my preferred playback application for local files. I would recommend full or mega as that includes MadVR (https://madvr.com/) which I feel in most cases is the best renderer available. Source: about 1 year ago
For VLC I don't know, but with MPC-HC you can use madVR [0]. My preferred setup is mpv [1] with a few shaders [2] such as FSRCNNX [3] and Krig Bilateral.
