SiteGround is another one. I've heard it's fast and doesn't have much downtime. But some say when it's time to pay again, the price goes up a lot. Is it worth it? Source: over 1 year ago
Don't use wordpress.com. Use wordpress.org. Buy a hosting package from siteground.com and you'll have a super easy one-click install without having to pay for a bunch of WordPress features that are actually free. Source: almost 2 years ago
Red flag #1: There's no reason their domain should be in the To field or mine in the Reply-To field. Red flag #2: The email doesn't come from siteground.com Red flag #3: The From address misspells "postmaster" as "postmassr" Red flag #4: The aggressive tone - they're going to delete my domain in 48 hours? Please. Red flag #5: Weird English. "In the event of non-payment or ignorance." Red flag #6: The link... Source: over 2 years ago
It is fine to use a private email in this way. However, you might want to get your own domain just because it looks more professional. I have a domain set up through siteground.com that's my first initial and last name (e.g., bsmith for Bob Smith—obviously anonymized). My email address is [me@bsmith.com](mailto:me@bsmith.com). For hosting, if you want reliability over everything else, WP Enginge is probably your best bet. It's on the pricier side, though. I didn't use any other hosting besides local German companies yet, so I cannot recommend anything else. Source: about 2 years ago
Transfer is super easy... wpengine.com is my favorite for WP sites. They handle backups and have security options and can handle plugin updates. Source: about 2 years ago
