It happens because people make phone calls, show up in person for town halls and similar events where they can speak directly to their representative, and join organized groups to pressure them. It feels like the web3 version of what Stripe is doing with their climate program. Centralized companies are focusing on their carbon footprint, and I personally think decentralized projects should be thinking about this as well. Source: over 2 years ago
