I wrote a very simple script to automatically download desktop wallpapers from http://simpledesktops.com/. I then cron'd it to place wallpapers in a folder, and Mac OS automatically rotates through the wallpapers randomly every hour. Actually, they wouldn't need to pay artists at all to make new PFPs. All the PFPs thus far were generated on Artbreeder. Also, before the premium-exclusive "Survival Mode" was removed, there were a couple of unique PFPs to get from it, one being (presumably) an orc. Still, I agree.
