The UI is so clean, it makes it desirable to use. Reporting is very easy to understand - without any of the complexity that comes with creating reports (like in Jira). I like that it has an opinion - it’s built around agile’s best practices. Easy to reprioritize in between sprints, and the sprint board is easy to understand so it’s great for first time agile teams.
My team has always worked adhoc on everything without properly using a project management tool. Once we adapted our workflow to Tara, it worked wonders for our organization. Tasks are easily grouped under umbrellas (Requirements, i.e. Epics in Jira) and everything is so visual that it's never painful to actually manage your tasks. Sprints make it easy to see what you need to get done this week, and we run daily standups using that view.
Highly recommend Tara to smaller teams that just need to focus on getting stuff done.
Based on our record, SILE should be more popular than Tara AI. It has been mentiond 12 times since March 2021. I'm allergic to LaTeX ;-), but initially used SILE, which is a modern reimagining of TeX/LaTeX. It reads Markdown natively, so I could push the content in directly and style it for the printed page. However, SILE is still very early in development, and I had some major problems with baseline alignment. What are your thoughts on SILE (https://sile-typesetter.org/)? I think it’s the tool roughly in this space, and “write djot -> SILE convertor” is on my hobby todo list. TeX/LaTeX is so addictive to use ... It's such a quirky and messy ecosystem. So organically grown over decades. Doing any complex layout is a struggle of trial and error and searching for advise, there's so many ways to do the same thing, you end up combining two dozens sometimes subtly incompatible packages, you end up gardening your own templates over time with meticulously embedded commentary to keep the... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I actually have really enjoyed SiLE[0] as a replacement. The only caveat being that it has no where near the ecosystem that LaTeX has built up over the years.
