Shoko Desktop VS Media Center Master

Then I found Shoko and was blown away. I found out that not only could I use it to fix the metadata problem, but I could even get it to organize and rename my entire collection. I spent a lot of time configuring this renaming (even making my own fork of ShokoServer because I didn't like their invalid character replacements) and then, after making sure it worked for a few examples, threw my whole library into it. I've had no issues here with subtitles. Metadata can be a bit janky though, so I use Shoko and the Shokofin plugin to help: Https://shokoanime.com/. Source: about 1 year ago

The last time I was looking into this, I came across a couple of projects that are supposed to help you organize your anime library to deal with this kind of stuff, the main current one being Shoko. Some past discussions: [1], [2]. Source: over 1 year ago

The only way I was able to work around this was by setting up a Shoko server, which fixed all those issues for the most part, although I still have some issues on a few shows. I actually also use Shoko as my primary Plex agent now for my anime libraries and it works pretty well. Source: over 1 year ago

I'm currently using Tiny Media Manager. Before that I had paid for a lifetime license for Media Center Master. I switched from MCM to TMM due to TMM being able to be run in a docker on Unraid where all my media files are kept anyway. Source: almost 3 years ago

This is but 1 of the reasons why I don't rely on Kodi to do anything but read my metadata & play my files, I do all my metadata with MCM. Source: about 3 years ago

I set all my metadata manually with MCM right along side my media, that way Kodi only reads it & never changes/downloads anything. Source: about 3 years ago

I run Kodi as the interface for all my media servers on the 2019 Pro without issue, tho I also use MCM to setup all my metadata manually with my content as I rip it (not the internal scrappers & Kodi only reads it/nevr changes anything) so I'm in control of everything it downloads & the size thereof.
