It works better than f.lux for me, because it works at a lower level than Gamma table manipulation. I’ve been using Night Shift ever since it was released and I like its color rendering more than f.lux. But it’s subjective, some people like the extreme warmth of f.lux more. Just a note to avoid confusion: Lunar serves a completely different purpose than f.lux. f.lux changes the colour temperature by altering the Gamma tables. Lunar's main function is controlling the hardware brightness/contrast/volume/input/colors of external monitors using DDC and private macOS methods.
