I was looking for a wood texture and was really impressed by something on sharetextures.com. At the bottom it said that the texture was created 'using photogrammetry'. I tried googling how to do it, but I only found tutorials for actual 3d models and not high-definition textures. Any resources for getting started would be greatly appreciated, thank you! Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but if it's environments that you are mostly after, one possible solution is to use HDRIs for the background. Obviously those are more limiting than a proper 3D environment but might be good if you are just doing static, one-off shots. As for rule 2 compliance, you may recall from the last post, I textured the duck with an image from unsplash. I used a terrain texture from polyhaven.com (was texturehaven.com back when I downloaded it.) I honestly cannot remember which tool I got the heightmap from, it was so long ago.
