PaperMC is particularly recommended for server administrators who want better performance and customizability, those who plan to host a large number of players, or server operators looking for a robust platform that supports numerous plugins without compromising performance.
Authough you can only run spigot and no forge on It its still fast but no mods only pluggins.
PaperMC might be a bit more popular than Server.pro. We know about 178 links to it since March 2021 and only 138 links to Server.pro. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Me and my friends are creating a Minecraft server using server.pro for 1.19.3 that only has the Simple Voice Chat mod installed on it and a datapack that keeps track of player's lives similar to Grian's Life series. The voice chat works well, we can hear each other loud and clear, however players need operator permissions to hear one another talking with Simple Voice Chat. Is there any way we can get players to... Source: over 1 year ago
So I've had this server on server.pro for like 3 years now, and I've never had problems before. I'm on the 4GB plan for reference. Recently, whenever I try to make a new world or switch what world I'm playing on, the most recent world gets deleted. At first, I thought it was a space thing so I deleted other worlds to make space. It keeps deleting the same world, no matter what I do. Any tips? Source: over 1 year ago
I have been trying to get voice chat to work on my Minecraft server on server.pro and I have tried changing the port in the config files to redownloading and replacing the mods on both client and server side. I have done simple voice chat on previous versions of Minecraft but the last time I did use voice chat was 1.18. Whether it's a 1.20.1 thing being annoying on server.pro I don't know. I am willing to try... Source: almost 2 years ago

I had done some research about the topic some time back, these are the links I had gathered. I was researching Java edition specifically, however among the ones linked below, at least one (Nukkit) has a Bedrock (C++) edition) Paper https://papermc.io/ Bukkit https://dev.bukkit.org/ Spigot https://www.spigotmc.org/ Nukkit https://cloudburstmc.org/articles/ Folia (mod for Papaer) https://github.com/PaperMC/Folia. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
We will be downloading the Minecraft server files into this directory. To preface, there are numerous variations of server JARs that can be used (e.g. Spigot, Paper, Purpur each touting their own benefits). For this tutorial, we will be working with Paper, a fork of Spigot that is optimized for performance. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

I am going to assume your client needs the optimizations not the server otherwise I would recommend paper. If you are looking for client sided optimization I'm going to recommend things like sodium, Iris Sharders, and lithium. I have used Optifine in the past and found it to be sub par when compared to those three but you might find different. I am going to recommend Atlaunch as Ive found it to be better than...
