If you just want to mock something up, you can use a pre-built UI system / component framework and just put together UIs declaratively, without having to worry about the underlying CSS or HTML at all. Maybe the app was using Chakra UI for its modal and custom buttons, while the rest of the imported library is just dead weight. React is open sourced and maintained by a large organization. It's unlikely to go away due to lack of support (looking at you Dojo). By using react you are not re-inventing the wheel and it is a skillset that will be used for gainful employment with actual companies. Source: over 2 years ago
