I use a wikipedia mirror cause I didnt bother changing my search engine ( https://searx.tiekoetter.com ) to not redirect there. Its not more reliable (in fact its less) because it fetches the data from wikipiedia each time, but its theoretically more private. I dont care about that though im just lazy. Source: over 1 year ago
I deployed whoogle search at home. For laptops it is rather easy to define it as the default search for alfred and the respective browser, but for iOS devices I have not found a way (except some rather clunky and intrusive extensions) to change the default search engine beyond what Apple tells you.
