It's probably overkill but I've used Rosegarden for this - open the SMF0 MIDI file in that, then export as MIDI and it'll be SMF1. Source: over 2 years ago

Once you have the original music you need to create an instrumental version. You can use the free versions of splitter.ai or x-minus.pro . If the free version doesn't meet your requirements it's not very expensive for the paid version. Source: about 1 year ago
If you really, REALLY can't find the instrumental, nowhere on the face of the wide web, my ultimate last resort is to use this site to seperate the vocals and instrumental. You have to make an account, but if you think it's worth it, go for it. It's not perfect, and works better on some songs than others, but if you mix the vocals good enough it'll hide most of what remains of the original vocals. This site also... Source: over 1 year ago
