I'm looking for tools, strategies, libraries, etc. That would be useful for automating arbitrary desktop applications. Ideally something free and open source. FYI if your phone can't read QR codes, there's websites where you can upload a photo/screenshot of a QR code (for example: https://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx). There's also other similar websites where you can just hold up the QR code to your computer's webcam, rather than having to upload a file, but just be careful with site permissions!
