  • Apple trade marks “Reality One”, “Reality Pro” and “Reality Processor” in possible relation to their VR/AR headset.
Not really, the OS that runs this headset was kinda confirmed by Apple themselves to be called RealityOS....and then there’s already AR products by apple that use this naming scheme such as RealityKit and Reality Composer. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Pokélab - an all-in-one SwiftUI app for Pokémon Legends Arceus
Reality Converter app: https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/tools/ I did try to use the CLI version (USDZ Tools), as I prefer CLI tools, but they bundle Python with it and I was having a real hard time getting it to work correctly with my PATH version of Python managed by brew. So used the GUI version (Reality Converter app). Source: about 2 years ago
  • Is there a Paint 3D alternative for macOs that is as simple and intuitive as the one that comes in Windows? This is such a handy program to use when you need to do some basic project. I was only able to find super professional programs that are very difficult to use.
Maybe Reality Composer? It's built to make 3D objects for AR. Https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/tools/. Source: about 2 years ago

Try opening the USDZ file in Reality Converter. Does the model appear textured? Click on the Materials button in the top right, do the textures show up on the right sidebar? Are the textures too large (> 2048 x 2048)? Some older graphics cards have problems with textures that don't have a size that is 2n e.g. 211 = 2048 x 2048. Source: over 2 years ago

  • AR news slowed down in the last days — is it the quiet before storm?
Feels like you're grasping at straws to dismiss them. If you think lower weight, not-grainy MR, six years of a public AR SDK, far better computing units, and an existing high-quality software ecosystem are "not noticeable", I'm left wondering what you think is noticeable. ARKit is Apple's (A)ugmented (R)eality development (K)it. It takes the output from Unity and displays it in the goggles/headset the guy is wearing to see all this. Well, what a camera pointed at the display sees. Source: over 2 years ago
