Raddle mentions (148)

  • There are no new social networks
    > Where is the public open chats of cyber space? It used to be every tech-savvy person had their own PhpBB instance and built small communities with that. All that has largely migrated to Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, and to a lesser extent: Lemmy & Mastodon. There's also quite niche and bespoke communities like Subreply[0], Tildes[1], and Raddle[2] (Built with Postmill). I prefer the Reddit style Karma system... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Lemmy.world has been hacked
Ironically, the anarchist site that the devs used to pour scorn on, Raddle, is still going just fine. Source: 11 months ago
  • Any "distressed people" have a feeling of nowhere to go?
I would check out https://raddle.me and https://beehaw.org. Both seem to be positive and cozy spaces. They might not have all the relevant communities but it's a good start. Source: 11 months ago
  • The final decision regarding DM Toolkit's future
My apologies, I will edit the post to redirect to the site. The site is available here. Source: 11 months ago
  • Anyone have recommendations for possible Reddit Alternatives for after July 1st?
I've seen some other alternatives such as raddle where independent users are trying to recreate the Reddit experience with a new platform (yet it doesn't seem to use the same Karma System, make of that what you will) but I'm still curious to see where everyone is going if large parts of Reddit disappear after July 1st... • Slack AI Training with Customer Data
Just another read to mass delete your Slack DM's before you quit your job/move to another job. https://redact.dev (my startup) makes this easy. - Source: Hacker News / 6 days ago
  • Mozilla Monitor Plus: automatically remove your personal info from data brokers
We are working on a fully local version of this @ https://redact.dev - Beta should be out within a month or so. Huge (obvious) advantages for doing it locally. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • How to Delete Your Data from Data Brokers
You can trust them only as much as you think they have self interest in not being sued for doing something nefarious. That said, they could very easily have a data breach and every customers full 'dox' would then be out in the wild. Were not talking about ordinary payment details either, just full on dox - every address you have lived at, your license scan, your names, phone numbers, its crazy. I made a post lower... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Californians will be able to delete all personal online data in first-in-US law
Some things to note, unless the bill was modified from the version I read: This doesnt apply to any information which is public record as a matter-of-fact. So if you voted, your address and name is public record and can be used and displayed by these sites. If you got a DUI, your mugshot and arrest record may be public record and can be displayed. If you got into a custody battle and your court case was public,... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Permission Slip: Consumer Reports app to take back control of your data
Is this a whitelabeled version of saymine? Seems like the same type of service. For what its worth, I think you need to go much farther than this. Saying "delete my account" does not do what you think it does for the vast majority of services. For instaince, take reddit or discord. When you 'delete your account' it does not actually delete your data. It just removes your email and changes your account handle to... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
