Story Architect (STARC)'s answer:
What makes Story Architect unique is tools inside the app. It allows you to work on unlimited amount of episodes within one project as well as to include various types of text in the project (e.g. screenplay, plain text, audio drama, etc.). You can also store a pack of drafts and all the additional material in one place. There's no second app where you can build maps and profiles of relationships, locations and worlds so smoothly and with so many details. Once you run out of ideas or just need some help, AI-assistant is here to serve you, too. Not to mention, all of this is supported in 30+ languages (and this number is constantly getting bigger).
Story Architect (STARC)'s answer:
Story Architect is the only screenwriting software hat offers this many features for granted. Our FREE version includes special formatting for 5 types of narration, basic profile of characters, locations and worlds, statistics module and cover generator. More tools open up when buying PRO & CLOUD license with prices lower than in any other writing tool with this amount of features (including AI-assistant, cards module, etc.). And each of these versions has a free trial period so that you learn exactly what tool kit you need.

Story Architect (STARC)'s answer:
In 2013, programmer Dimka Novikov received a proposal to create film shoot planning software, sparking the idea for Kit Scenarist. By 2014, the first version was launched, capable of formatting scripts to international standards. English localizations arrived in 2016, marking the start of Kit Scenarist's global journey. In 2018, attempts to monetize through crowdfunding failed, also revealing architectural limitations.
In 2019, Dimka returned with a plan for a new software, leading to the birth of the Story Architect (or simply STARC). Released in 2021, STARC integrated six years of Kit Scenarist experience with significant technical improvements. By 2023, Kit Scenarist support ceased, and users transitioned to STARC. Today, STARC is a full-fledged program for authors, offering various subscription levels with advanced features.
Story Architect (STARC) might be a bit more popular than Quoll Writer. We know about 12 links to it since March 2021 and only 12 links to Quoll Writer. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Quoll Writer is free and might fit the bill! I know it does the link thing. Source: 11 months ago
Does Scrivener have any real benefit over free software like Quoll Writer or yWriter? I've used yWriter in the past. I'm using Quoll Writer for my current project and it does everything I need it to do. Source: 12 months ago
My go-to suggestions for free are Quoll Writer or Smart Edit Writer for things with a lot of the functionality of Scrivener, without the clutter or price tag, or Wavemaker if you want heavier planning tools (plot cards, time line, database etc). Source: about 1 year ago
Practically any text editor will do :) Word or its free/open-source equivalents. You can also have a look at this post that I made a while ago. Some other examples of free writing software (with outlining/notes and such) include Quoll Writer, yWriter or SmartEdit Writer. Source: about 1 year ago
I write and liked Scrivener but it felt a little too bloated. I just want a word processor that does that, but simplified. I use Quoll Writer and they just introduced night mode. Best of all, it's free! Source: about 1 year ago
For those (like me) who use story architect for their screenwriting (a link), I have made some themes (inspired by some obsidian themes), as the basic theme is a bit boring. To use them, go into 'application settings', and then 'custom' for the user interface, then paste in the code. Source: 11 months ago
You also can try our application Story Architect, it's like a Scrivener meets Final Draft. You can organize series project with it and collect all things related to the project inside one place. Source: 11 months ago
If you want a basic software that'll get the job done you can try story architect or Starc. Source: 12 months ago
Highly suggest using a proper screenwriting program. There are plenty out there, some of which are also free - https://starc.app/, and some that have free options like https://www.arcstudiopro.com/ or https://www.fadeinpro.com/ (my personal favourite so far). Source: about 1 year ago
Try Story Architect app. The main app concept in a middle between Scrivener and Final Draft. It allows you to organize script structure in a hierarchical way, and cards can reflect this hierarchy (like this). Source: about 1 year ago
