There's another open-source media player that will let you load up WinAmp skins. But heck if I can remember what it was, or find it. It looks nothing like WinAmp without the skins though... I personally use qmmp which is a generic Qt audio player rather than a KDE specific one. Qmmp comes with two different user interfaces -- the default Winamp/XMMS style and simple UI which is somewhat reminiscent of foobar2000's columns UI, although more simple. I use the simple UI. I would 100% agree if it weren't for the existence of the music player foobar2000. Both share similar design goals. But foobar takes it a step further by making the entire UI completely user customizable with a simple built in editor. All without sacrificing speed, compactness, or usability.
