I've used Rake and Fabric for somewhat similar (but less ambitious) stuff in the past and I'm thinking that Fabric might be a pretty good fit for this task as well, but I'd still like your input. Are there other tools I should look into? I'm only running Monit on my OPNsense box, because it lets you configure some really specific conditions to watch/ trigger notifications for, and that was important for my firewall. It's great, but I wish there was a decent UI like M/Monit, but open source. Source: about 3 years ago
