Before making a large commitment, I'd try out programming, and see if it is something you enjoy and have an aptitude for. There's a large number of online resources for it. That being said, I would recommend you at least learn some basic programming on your own first, just to confirm it’s something you enjoy and have the aptitude for. I tell them they need to watch short videos, say from ed.ted.com, then do 30 mins of reading English, reading out loud to themselves. I say do this daily and ask about words unknown, or contexts, and see what happens. The ones who really want to learn come back speaking better english, after a while of course.
