Privacy.com features and specs

  • Enhanced Security
Privacy.com allows users to create unique, virtual cards for each transaction, reducing the risk of fraud and unauthorized charges on their bank account.
  • Spending Control
Users can set spending limits on each virtual card, ensuring better budget management and preventing overspending.
  • Merchant Lock
Virtual cards can be locked to a specific merchant, preventing unauthorized charges from other sources and adding an extra layer of security.
  • Easy Cancellation
Virtual cards can be easily paused or deleted, which is simpler than canceling a physical card and waiting for a replacement.
  • Privacy Protection
Since real credit card details are not shared with merchants, users' personal information is better protected against data breaches.

Possible disadvantages of Privacy.com

  • Limited Availability
Privacy.com currently supports only U.S. bank accounts, limiting access for international users.
  • Funding Source Restrictions
Users can only link their bank account or debit card as a funding source; credit cards are not supported.
  • Merchant Acceptance
Some merchants may not accept virtual cards or may have issues processing them, potentially causing inconvenience.
  • Subscription Model
Advanced features and higher card limits are locked behind a subscription plan, which may not be ideal for all users.
  • Traceability
While Privacy.com improves security, transactions are still traceable to an extent since they are tied to a user's real bank account.

file.io features and specs

  • Simplicity
The service offers a straightforward approach to file sharing, making it easy for users to upload and share files quickly without requiring an account.
  • Free Usage
File.io can be used for free for basic file sharing needs, which is ideal for users or businesses with minimal file sharing requirements.
  • Automatic File Expiration
Files are automatically deleted after being downloaded once, enhancing security by ensuring shared files do not linger online indefinitely.
  • No Account Required
Users do not need to create an account to upload and share files, lowering the barrier to entry and speeding up the process.

Possible disadvantages of file.io

  • Limited File Downloads
Files can only be downloaded once before being deleted, which could be limiting if multiple recipients need to access the same file.
  • File Size Limits
There may be restrictions on the size of files that can be uploaded, constraining the sharing of larger files without upgrading or finding alternative solutions.
  • No Permanent Storage
Since files are automatically deleted after download, file.io does not offer an option for permanent cloud storage or backup.
  • Limited Support for Multiple File Types
The service might have limitations on the types of files supported for upload, potentially requiring users to convert files beforehand.

  1. CEO

Real easy to use-- at first. As time went on it got harder and harder to get it to work. Finally it 'lost' my password, so I couldn't use it, and 'Support' never got back to me; but they did send me a 'customer satisfaction survey.' Hah!

    👎 Cons:    No customer support!

  • Americans are spending billions on stuff they forget to cancel
I use a service called Privacy [1] to generate virtual card numbers, which I than use with all of my subscriptions. All of the virtual cards are tied to a physical credit card used as the funding source. I get a notification every time a card is charged or a charge is denied (if it's above the set limit or no longer active). This has saved me from fraud where a single-use virtual card # I used to pay for airport... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • Gift cards that work with tutanota.com? Or private virtual cards?
Ideally would be something I could buy anonymously with cash since I want to use it on a health related site, but I'd accept a private/name hidden card at least. Not sure if privacy.com cards, wise, or others might work with it. Source: over 1 year ago

Lol, Also helpful tip. If you're going to use Fubo you should also use privacy.com. It lets you set up single use cards with spending limits so you don't accidently get charged. You can cancel the cards at anytime too. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Any way to recover corrupted chunks/regions?
After finding that out, I reverted to a backup and Minecraft version where I knew his base existed prior to the update but his region was still reset. This isn't the first time I've had trouble with his base when updating the server but the issue resolved itself in the past after a simple revert. After doing some digging, I discovered the region file (r.-11.0.mca) that his base was once in is either corrupted or... Source: almost 2 years ago
