  I self published a history book with extensive maps.   So, I am aware of Pressbooks, which uses Wordpress. Also, Booktype, which looks like a fairly complicated system to set up. Finally, I can think of Open Monograph Press, which takes the complication process even further. Source: almost 3 years ago

  I don’t think comments make a story more visible on HN, it’s not like https://tildes.net/ My belief actually is that visibility of posts is suppressed if they get, say, 20 comments and already have 50 votes.
