Going into slightly more obscure stuff, POWDER fits your criteria - original game, 16x16 default tile set with other tile sets available, Linux port available since the mid-aughts, etc. No idea if any distros had it in their repositories at the time, I only really played it on the DS. I honestly can't imagine not using extensions. I'm 39 and have been on the web since Netscape etc in the early 90s and I honestly care more about the extensions than I do anything the browser actually does. Not native to Gmail, but there are some tools that allow notes and comments on web pages as an extension. https://web.hypothes.is/ does this and is open source (if that matters to you). Source: 10 months ago
