Going into slightly more obscure stuff, POWDER fits your criteria - original game, 16x16 default tile set with other tile sets available, Linux port available since the mid-aughts, etc. No idea if any distros had it in their repositories at the time, I only really played it on the DS. Don't forget to add Windows to the list, you can find it pretty cheap on g2a.com, it's a key reseller, only ~$25 bucks for a copy of windows vs $100+ retail. Source: 11 months ago

I am really poor like so poor that saving up 5.50 euroes was smthn, so I take my money and go to g2a.com only to accidentally click on the wrong card and buy a steam TL currency gift card.
